GINGER RUSSELL
BIOGRAPHY
Ginger Russell is a lens based artist living and working in deep East Texas. She currently attends Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Lamar University in Beaumont Texas.
After receiving her degree in May 1999, she worked as a graphic designer for a local internet company. Then in late 2000 she and her husband moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico to begin a new adventure. Ginger soon discovered that Santa Fe is one of the top wedding destinations in the continental US and she quickly established herself as a wedding and events photographer. For fifteen years she had the privilege of photographing couples, families and corporate clients in the breath taking beauty in the Land of Enchantment. Shooting commercially for so many years Ginger gained her "10,000 hours" of experience in the field of photography. As Malcom Gladwell says, the key to achieving true expertise in any skill is simply a matter of practicing.
Ginger retired as a commercial photographer at the end of 2016 and returned home to her native Texas. Now her focus in photography is in creating fine art, applying her years of experience to her artistic endeavors.
